The Safety Officer at Rutland Regional Medical Center plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position is responsible for enforcing policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain access to the facility. The Safety Officer will conduct regular safety and security checks and respond to any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce current policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure appropriate access to the facility.
  • Conduct regular safety and security checks within and surrounding the facility.
  • Respond to any issues that may arise, including de-escalating conflicts and providing support as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve safety and security protocols.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a security or door screener role is preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service or public-facing role is preferred.
  • Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification within 3 months of hire.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association within 6 months of hire.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes and regulations.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Good communication skills and clear thinking to communicate with others.
  • Basic computer skills.
Compensation
  • $4.25 - Evenings
  • $8.00 - Nights
  • $4.75 - Weekends
Pay Range
