Licensed Outpatient Therapist for Children and Adults
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a mental health professional at our organization. We are in search of a qualified individual with experience in providing therapeutic services to both youth and adults. This role involves delivering outpatient, office-based, and/or virtual psychotherapy and psychological services to clients within our communities. We accept a variety of insurance plans and offer adjusted fee scale rates for those in need of financial assistance.

Starting or maintaining an outpatient practice can present challenges, particularly in today's environment. With the numerous responsibilities associated with running a private practice, focusing on clinical work can sometimes feel secondary.

At Counseling Centers of North Puget Sound (CCNPS), we prioritize your passion for clinical practice. We provide a unique blend of the benefits of private practice and agency employment: our therapists have the autonomy to set their own schedules and manage their patient load without the burden of overhead costs (such as rent, utilities, and billing). We handle these aspects for you.

We aim to maintain a manageable size to preserve the close-knit atmosphere that our clinicians and staff appreciate. Our low turnover rate reflects the satisfaction of our team. Flexibility is a key advantage of working with us. Clinicians can design their own schedules and have the option to work both in-office and remotely. Compensation is primarily self-determined, based on a commission (fee-split) structure. After the initial period, our commission rate is competitive. We do not impose restrictions on your caseload or productivity; instead, we reward commitment by progressively increasing the commission rate upon reaching specified service hours or revenue goals. We intentionally offer a higher commission rate compared to other organizations, allowing staff the freedom to choose their preferred insurance plans. Additionally, we provide paid time off and opportunities for selected continuing education.

CCNPS delivers an exceptional private practice experience with minimal risk. Should you need to take extended leave or temporarily close your office, you won’t have to worry about covering overhead costs. We manage all insurance billing, allowing you to concentrate on what truly matters—your clinical practice.

If you are new to insurance-based practice, we are here to assist you in establishing relationships with insurance companies and provide marketing support. Our group contracts with various health plans enable us to facilitate your start right away.

Job Type: We are looking for someone interested in developing a full-time practice with us. During the initial phase or for Associate-level licensed clinicians, the commission rate may be lower. However, it becomes quite generous thereafter. We are open to discussing this in detail during your interview.

Required Education:
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in psychology or a related behavioral health field.

Required License or Certification:
  • Candidates must hold a current professional license in the state of Washington.
  • We welcome both 'associate' and fully-licensed clinicians.

Additional Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in building a practice.
  • A strong commitment to respecting individual spiritual beliefs and practices.
  • Desired Qualifications (not mandatory):
  • Training in pastoral care or Christian counseling, or
  • Comfort in a spiritual group and church environment.
  • Experience in private practice.
  • Current contracts with health insurance plans are a significant advantage.

About Us: CCNPS has been an integral part of local communities for nearly four decades. We began with a small team in one location and have grown to include 11 therapists and psychologists providing outpatient mental health services across multiple sites. As a Christian faith-based, non-profit counseling agency, we collaborate with host churches that generously support our mission through space, funding, and other resources. Our primary goal is to offer counseling services to the broader community, with service ministry at the core of our mission. Each staff member decides what portion of their practice to dedicate to uncompensated care.

While Christian counseling is one of the services we provide, it is not a requirement for receiving care. Clients and providers are encouraged to discuss spirituality as appropriate, and we honor each client's belief system, working collaboratively from their perspective in a respectful manner. We also strive to honor the beliefs and practices of our host churches.
