Job Description

Interim Healthcare of Bellevue WA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide part-time care for a special needs child in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide age-appropriate health, social, and developmental assessments using relevant tools and methodologies.
  • Develop a suitable plan of care and teaching strategy that includes the family/caregiver's role.
  • Collaborate with patients, parents/family, and significant others to implement, evaluate, and modify care and teaching plans as necessary.
  • Perform nursing treatments and tests, including wound care, infusions, medication administration, venipuncture, and tube feedings, under physician orders.
  • Accurately record all pertinent data in accordance with facility information systems and protocols.
Requirements:
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
  • At least one year of experience as a Pediatric RN within the last five years.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification covering infants, children, and adults.
  • Proven experience with ventilator/tracheostomy care, tube feeding, and transfer assistance.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Effective communication skills with clinical and non-clinical staff, children, adolescents, and family/caregivers.
    • Valid driver's license, if applicable.
    • Meets applicable health requirements for patient care.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
  • Work settings include clinics, schools, hospitals, doctor's offices, or occupational settings providing daycare for children.
  • Physical capabilities include stretching, reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and potentially infectious or hazardous materials requires extensive safety precautions and protective equipment.
