About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Patient Support Unit team at UnitedHealth Group Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and progressive healthcare organization, serving millions of people through our aligned physicians and advanced practice clinicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment, working with our contracted and affiliated physicians, their advance practice clinicians, and clinic staff.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans, ensuring a coordinated model of care for our Medicare-aged population.
  • Conduct patient interviews to ensure proper documentation and completion of preventative screenings.
  • Track and report performance metrics, using data to inform strategic decisions and drive quality outcomes.
Requirements
  • Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or Licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas State Medical Board.
  • Valid DEA license or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
  • At least one year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare-aged patient population.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with primary care and chronic condition codes.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency.
  • A working understanding and support of a managed care environment.
