Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct medical screening exams and make independent assessments of patients' health conditions.
  • Examine and treat patients in an acute and sub-acute care setting for episodic visits and ongoing care of chronic and/or acute health conditions.
  • Identify and manage disease processes according to updated guidelines and evidence-based systems.
  • Consult with a supervising Physician whenever there is a significant health condition beyond competency and prior to initiation of any major treatment plan or major procedure.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain flexible and positive in stressful situations.
  • Effective assessment, evaluation, and resolution skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.

Education and Experience:

  • Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department required.
  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas required.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the State of Texas.
  • Nurse Practitioner Certified by The National Certification Corporation (NCC) or any other body accredited by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • Must have DEA Number, DPS Number, and the ability to obtain an NPI Number.
  • Master of Science in Nursing required.
