Position Details

Compensation: $35.43 per hour.

For union-represented employees, pay and benefits are defined in their collective bargaining agreements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field activities related to the collection of overdue accounts and investigate high billing issues.
  • Perform tasks related to troubleshooting, replacing, installing, and repairing water meters and associated reading devices.
  • Locate and operate curb stops and valves for various meter sizes.
  • Execute repairs and adjustments, including fixing leaks and replacing meter components.
  • Report any unusual conditions observed at customer locations, such as tampered meters.
  • Serve as a substitute for the Meter Department Leader based on seniority.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of daily work activities.
  • Assist with snow removal as necessary.
  • Support inventory management for the Meter Department as directed.
  • Be available for emergency standby duty.
  • Work schedule: Monday through Saturday.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.

Licenses/Certifications: A valid State Driver's License is mandatory.
