POSITION OVERVIEW:
As the Senior Director of Tax Strategy and Compliance, you will play a critical role in leading both domestic and international tax initiatives. Your responsibilities will include calculating tax obligations, preparing tax documentation, managing external filings, and conducting thorough tax research and analysis. This position also emphasizes Tax Research & Planning, focusing on the implications of current, proposed, and emerging tax legislation.

In this capacity, you will be tasked with researching and interpreting tax regulations to assess their effects on the organization’s tax responsibilities. Your insights will be essential in uncovering tax optimization opportunities and advising on the tax ramifications of significant transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and asset sales.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the annual and quarterly global income tax provision process, including effective tax rate calculations, deferred tax assessments, tax liabilities, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls related to income tax accounting, including the development and execution of necessary tax controls.
  • Guarantee adherence to U.S. GAAP tax disclosure requirements for SEC reporting.
  • Monitor and evaluate changes in U.S. and international tax laws to assess their impact on financial statements.
  • Lead the analysis of complex tax issues and transactions, providing timely assessments of income tax and accounting implications to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, Human Resources, and various business units to ensure data flows meet global compliance and reporting standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of tax technology solutions to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks in the global tax function.
  • Direct the income tax budgeting and forecasting process, including monthly global cash tax projections.
  • Ensure the Company’s compliance with all federal income tax regulations through the accurate preparation of consolidated federal tax returns and complex reconciliations.
  • Manage the audit defense process, including thorough issue analysis and negotiation of audit settlements while fostering relationships with tax authorities.
  • Mentor and develop staff and managers, promoting a culture of continuous feedback and improvement. Manage external service provider relationships effectively.
  • Identify and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the Company’s effective tax rate and cash tax expenditures.
  • Assist in the planning and structuring of acquisitions and divestitures, including modeling tax implications and accounting considerations.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA or master's degree in taxation and/or JD/LLM.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in income tax, with a focus on managing and developing a diverse team of tax professionals.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, international, and transaction tax concepts.
  • Expertise in ASC 740 with significant application experience.
  • Extensive experience in leading federal income tax returns for multinational companies.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and provision software, including ONESOURCE Tax suite.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex tax issues to varied audiences.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, fostering diversity and a collaborative team environment.
