Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Procurement Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that program requirements are effectively prioritized and executed to fulfill the needs of Blue Origin. This role requires a deep understanding of Blue Origin's Supply Chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with experience in preparing and issuing Requests for Proposal/Requests for Quote, conducting price analyses, and developing negotiation strategies. The Lead Procurement Specialist will have a proven track record in formulating various contract types for significant procurement activities, including long-term procurement agreements and sourcing partnerships, while also identifying opportunities for enhanced efficiencies.

Ownership of the procurement process from requisition creation to final invoice payment is crucial, as is the ability to resolve any issues that arise within this process. You will spearhead the identification, implementation, negotiation, execution, and management of strategic agreements, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic objectives, including the timely delivery of production materials that meet budgetary and technical performance requirements.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, or a Master's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in procurement and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Experience negotiating and managing various contract types, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time and Material (T&M), and cost-type contracts (CPFF, CPIF).
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate all elements of procurement, including terms and conditions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience working in ambiguous environments while successfully balancing priorities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies, procedures, and U.S. government regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant files and data records.
  • Strong analytical skills, data-driven with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 standards.
  • Understanding of Engineering Data such as specifications and source control drawings.
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities, developing solutions, executing plans, and critically evaluating results.
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives within the supply chain department.
  • Highly analytical and critical thinker.
  • Ability to build trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and foster a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the Space or Aerospace industry.
  • Experience with Avionics or Fluids components.
  • Knowledge of import/export (ITAR/EAR) regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint, Jira, and SharePoint.
