Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Sound Transit. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services for our rail operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and storing materials and supplies.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts with vendors, including negotiating prices, terms, and conditions.
  • Price Analysis: Conduct price analysis to ensure fair and reasonable prices for materials and services.
  • Warranty Management: Manage warranty terms and conditions for materials and services.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze reports to track procurement activity, inventory levels, and contract performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Purchasing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Four years of experience in heavy industrial parts inventory management and purchasing/contracting inventory.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and proficiency in computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and statistical databases.
Working Conditions

This position is performed in a standard hybrid office environment with periodic visits to maintenance work areas, storerooms, and off-site storage facilities as required.
