Understanding ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a proven methodology that enhances behavior through the application of behavioral principles. ABA therapy aids individuals with autism and other developmental disorders by improving critical skills and overall well-being.

Your Responsibilities:

As an ABA Therapist, your role will include:

  • Implementing ABA Techniques: Utilize ABA strategies to meet behavioral objectives and support student growth.
  • Providing Direct Support: Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based ABA practices.
  • Collaborating with Stakeholders: Partner with educators, families, and school personnel to ensure effective behavior management approaches.
  • Documenting Progress: Maintain comprehensive records and reports on student behavior and the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Communicating with Families: Share updates with parents and guardians regarding student progress and relay important information to your supervising BCBA.
  • Adapting to Student Needs: Travel as necessary between schools to deliver therapy and support.
  • Embracing Learning: Show a commitment to professional growth by being open to feedback and following guidance closely.

Qualifications We Seek:

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children or adolescents in ABA therapy or similar environments is preferred.
  • Certification: RBT certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge and Skills: A solid understanding of ABA principles and behavior management techniques is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Willingness to Travel: Must be prepared to travel between schools as required to provide therapy and support.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

  • Hours: Part-time availability from Monday to Friday, with hours scheduled between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
  • Pay Range: Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.
