Understanding ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a research-backed method that enhances behavior through the application of behavioral principles. ABA therapy assists individuals with autism and other developmental challenges by improving vital skills and overall life quality.

Your Responsibilities:

As an ABA Therapist, your duties will include:

  • Implementing ABA Techniques: Utilize ABA methods to address behavioral objectives and support student growth.
  • Providing Direct Therapy: Conduct one-on-one and group therapy sessions with students using evidence-based ABA practices.
  • Collaborating with Stakeholders: Partner with educators, parents, and school personnel to ensure effective behavior management strategies.
  • Maintaining Documentation: Keep thorough records and progress reports on student behavior and intervention results.
  • Communicating Effectively: Offer feedback to parents and guardians regarding student activities and relay important information to your BCBA.
  • Adapting to Needs: Travel between schools as necessary to deliver therapy sessions and support.
  • Commitment to Learning: Show a willingness to learn, accept constructive feedback, and follow instructions diligently.

Qualifications We Seek:

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or adolescents in ABA therapy or similar environments is preferred.
  • Certification: RBT certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge and Skills: A solid understanding of ABA principles, methodologies, and behavior management techniques is preferred but not essential.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and adapt to the physical demands of the role.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to Travel: Must be open to traveling between schools as needed to provide therapy sessions and support.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

  • Hours: Part-time, Monday through Friday, with hours set between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • Pay Range: $22 to $27 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
