Job Title: Agricultural Sciences Teacher

Join Northern Rivers Family of Services as an Agricultural Sciences Teacher and play a vital role in shaping the next generation of leaders in the field of agriculture and environmental conservation.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced educator to join our team as an Agricultural Sciences Teacher. As a member of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, you will be responsible for instructing and supervising students in horticulture, plant sciences, landscaping, and floral design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to students of various ability levels and age groups.
  • Collaborate with the Greenhouse Coordinator to provide work-based learning experiences and project-based learning activities that enhance learning opportunities for students with diverse needs.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program planning, and implementation as part of the CTE program.
  • Manage classroom, greenhouse, and outdoor facilities, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Serve as a liaison between our school and the broader agricultural community, fostering partnerships and collaborations.
  • Help students receive industry certifications and participate in the CTE Advisory Board.
  • Assist classroom staff with crisis prevention and intervention techniques, as well as de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Manage and coordinate students' safety and well-being through established classroom and schoolwide processes and procedures.
Requirements and Education:
  • A CTE certification in Agricultural Education or at least three years of industry-related work experience, which may be eligible for a transitional certification.
  • Experience developing and implementing project-based learning initiatives.
