Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Counsel and the organization with various legal issues.
  • Execute responsibilities in accordance with legal and regulatory standards, as well as Mount Sinai's core values and business practices.
  • Provide legal guidance and oversight to clinical and operational departments.
  • Draft, assess, and negotiate contracts aligned with Mount Sinai's strategic goals.
  • Articulate Mount Sinai's positions and engage in negotiations with external parties regarding regulatory and legal matters, including settlements.
  • Act as a legal representative for Mount Sinai in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials, and other external legal proceedings.
  • Oversee and manage external legal counsel.
  • Draft necessary policy modifications.
  • Identify and address potential legal challenges within the organization, developing strategies to prevent litigation and minimize risk.
  • Lead various legal initiatives and negotiate effective solutions to complex legal challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Active Florida law license and Bar membership in good standing.
  • A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, focusing on corporate and regulatory law within the healthcare sector.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the legal challenges faced by healthcare organizations.
