Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Counsel and the organization with various legal issues.
- Perform duties in alignment with legal standards and Mount Sinai's values and practices.
- Provide legal guidance and oversight to clinical and operational teams.
- Draft, assess, and negotiate contracts that align with Mount Sinai's strategic goals.
- Articulate Mount Sinai's positions and engage in negotiations with external parties regarding legal and regulatory matters.
- Act as a legal representative for Mount Sinai in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
- Oversee and manage external legal counsel.
- Develop policy modifications as necessary.
- Identify and address potential legal challenges within the organization, devising strategies to mitigate litigation risks.
- Lead various legal initiatives and negotiate effective solutions to complex legal challenges.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law institution.
- Active Florida law license and Bar membership.
- A minimum of 5 years of legal experience with a focus on corporate and regulatory law in the healthcare sector.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents.
- Comprehensive understanding of legal issues faced by healthcare organizations.
