Job Summary

This is a permanent full-time role that requires working on-site in Norwich, Connecticut, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with managing VMware, not just end-user experience. The position involves installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and software related to virtual desktops, servers, networking, printers, various hardware systems, and Cisco networking.

Main Responsibilities

Installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and software on or related to virtual desktops, servers, networking, printers, various hardware systems, and Cisco networking.

Requirements

A strong background working in a virtual environment, excellent interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and excel in a small IT department. Experience working with Crystal reports, building and maintaining databases (such as Progress, Access, and SQL), and knowledge of network topologies and supporting Cisco networks.

Preferred Qualifications

Certificates in Security Plus, Network Plus, Microsoft, Cisco, or CompTIA. Knowledge of MAC operating systems, MS Office Suite, and experience following processes, recommending improvements, translating technical terms to non-technical users, solving technical problems, and working in a team environment.

Additional Requirements

Occasional weekend, holiday, and/or off-hours shift coverage. Participation in the on-call rotation (one day per month).
