About the Role

Delta Utilities is a leading natural gas utility seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to serve as a strategic partner to our leadership team. As a key member of our HR team, you will provide expert advice and support in all areas of human resources.

This role requires a dynamic individual with at least 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a business partner or HR generalist role. Relevant certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar are preferred.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, and a proven ability to partner with leadership teams to align HR initiatives with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with department leaders to align HR strategies with business goals, ensuring that HR initiatives support the company's objectives
  • Collaborate with leadership to anticipate staffing needs, support recruitment efforts, and facilitate succession planning for key roles
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, handling conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and company policies
  • Assist with the performance review process, advise managers on performance improvement plans, and facilitate feedback and development conversations
  • Lead initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture, drive employee engagement, and support change management efforts as needed
  • Collaborate with the HR team on compensation strategies, ensuring competitiveness of employee benefits
  • Identify training needs and facilitate leadership development programs, partnering with external vendors as needed
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with legal requirements and industry standards
  • Remain up to date on employment laws and ensure organizational compliance
  • Analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement, performance) to provide insights and recommendations to improve employee retention and satisfaction
  • Work closely with the HRIS to optimize HR systems and improve processes related to talent management, onboarding, and employee records
