Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at UTMB Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional setting, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Participate in admission, discharge, and transfer procedures, ensuring seamless transitions of care
- Review and modify nursing plans of care, under supervision, to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Deliver designated nursing interventions, consistent with state medical plans of care, to assigned patients
- Notify nursing and medical staff of changes in patient status, recognizing patient care priorities and potential crises
- Follow physician's orders, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to infection control and isolation procedures
- Administer medications and treatments safely and properly, executing written physician's orders
- Document nursing care in patient records, adhering to internal controls and reporting structures
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas
- No experience required; recent graduates with temporary permits considered
- Current BLS-HP certification
- Ability to work in a correctional setting, with security clearance and pre-employment drug testing required
