Overview:
As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will deliver essential patient support under the supervision of nursing professionals, ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients. The Medical Surgical Gastro unit specializes in gastrointestinal care, addressing a variety of conditions.

Our patients often present with issues such as non-surgical abdominal discomfort, liver diseases, gastrointestinal obstructions, severe nausea, gallstones, acute inflammation of the pancreas, diarrhea, inflammatory bowel diseases, and significant gastrointestinal bleeding. Additionally, we cater to patients recovering from less complex surgical procedures. This dynamic environment offers numerous opportunities for professional growth, emphasizing collaboration and teamwork.

We take pride in our strong unit culture, where we come together in every circumstance, whether it’s a medical emergency or a celebratory event, to accomplish our goals as a cohesive team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Fulfill the expectations outlined in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and assist with daily living activities, including eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Provide nutritional support by feeding patients and accurately recording their dietary intake.
  • Monitor and document vital signs such as temperature and blood pressure, promptly reporting any changes to the nursing staff or physicians.
  • Support nursing and medical staff during procedures and assist in wound care.

Qualifications:
A. Education/Skills: A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
B. Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
C. Certifications: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.

Work Schedule:
7AM - 7PM

Employment Type:
