Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor

Job Summary:

Bay Area Community Resources is seeking a certified/registered Alcohol & Drug Counselor to join our Behavioral Health team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will be responsible for facilitating education and treatment groups, conducting intakes and discharges, and providing individual care management.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate education and treatment groups on site and within the community
  • Conduct intakes of new clients and discharges
  • Individual care management
  • Engagement and retention groups
  • Address client issues surrounding topics of substance use and criminal behaviors

Requirements:

  • Must be a Certified or Registered Alcohol or Drug Counselor or licensed counselor by a State of California Accredited Institution, such as CCAPP or CADPT
  • Must be able to work onsite at a facility
  • Previous experience working with the justice-involved population
  • Excellent work ethic; full understanding of and adherence to professional, ethical and legal standards
  • Must be able to clear Livescan fingerprinting & background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Computer literate
