Position Overview: The Associate Director for Career Readiness is a pivotal role within the Hart Career Center, responsible for steering student career development initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Career Counseling and Development: Lead and provide strategic direction for career counseling services addressing all phases of career progression. This includes fostering self-awareness, exploration, decision-making, implementation, management, and re-careering. Offer specialized guidance on graduate and professional school preparations, conduct individual counseling sessions, administer career assessments, and facilitate the identification of internships and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Educational Outreach and Career Exploration: Develop and implement a robust career outreach strategy. Collaborate with academic faculty to connect classroom learning with career pathways, and effectively promote the career center's services and programs.
  • Graduate School Advisement: Provide expert advice on the graduate school admissions landscape, stay informed on current trends, and assist students in preparing for the application process, including standardized test preparations.
  • Career Immersion Programs: Co-lead the annual Career Immersion Excursion program, organizing and executing a comprehensive career discovery trip.
  • Supervision and Management: Oversee the recruitment, training, and evaluation of the Health Science Career Counselor and student workers. Responsible for developing and updating policies related to career readiness and contributing to departmental assessments.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in career services or college student development.
