Job Summary

Union-Anson County Habitat for Humanity is seeking a highly skilled Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts and help us build safe, affordable housing in Union and Anson Counties in NC and Chesterfield County, SC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual resource development plan to secure funding for our mission.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Executive Director and the board, measuring progress towards achieving the plan.
  • Identify and pursue new sources of corporate and foundation funding.
  • Build and maintain relationships with major donors, develop strategies for solicitation, and solicit or coordinate the solicitation by other affiliate staff, board, or volunteers, as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement all aspects of direct donor mailings, appeal letters, and other donor mailings as needed.
  • Ensure that the donor database information is current and accurate.
  • Acknowledge all gifts and donations.
  • Manage or oversee all UACHFH fundraising events.
  • Promote events to the business community to support UACHFH and provide support to groups that want to host events.
  • Work with appropriate staff and volunteers to ensure that all aspects of a successful event are coordinated towards a common goal.
  • Develop and solicit sponsors for houses and events as needed.

Requirements:

  • B.A./B.S. preferred with an emphasis or concentration in business, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Certificate in fundraising program preferred.
  • Two – to five years of professional development and fundraising experience.
  • Experience and contacts in Union, Anson, and Chesterfield Counties are preferred.
  • Advanced PC skills and expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Donor database experience desirable).
  • Desire to work as part of a team and willingness to promote the principles and views of Habitat for Humanity.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision – self-motivated & confident.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience.
  • Ability to inspire, train, motivate, challenge, and supervise volunteers.
  • Confident in public speaking and able to express ideas verbally and in writing.
