About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Designer to join our team at AirTree Ventures Pty. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for driving design strategies that fuel user engagement and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Design Projects: Oversee the design process for entire user experiences, from concept to launch, ensuring seamless integration with business goals.
  • Establish Design Strategies: Develop and drive design philosophies, aligning with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Mentor and Guide: Foster a culture of excellence by mentoring and guiding senior designers, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
  • User Research and Testing: Conduct user research and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions, ensuring user-centric design solutions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create cohesive and seamless user experiences, effectively communicating design concepts and strategies.
  • Design Systems and Style Guides: Develop and maintain comprehensive design systems and style guides, ensuring consistency and efficiency in design processes.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (15-20 years in digital product design).
  • Expertise and Skills: Strong expertise in one core area of design and proficiency in two others, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven leadership skills, including strategic planning and mentorship, with the ability to work closely with executive teams and other leadership within the company.
  • Design Tools and Software: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Origami, or Adobe Creative Suite.
