About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Designer to join our Trust Design team at Square. As a Principal Product Designer, you will be responsible for designing simple, useful, and delightful experiences that maximize trust and expand access to our ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with leadership and cross-functional partners to drive strategic initiatives and up-level the craft and quality of our products.
  • Design complex systems and experiences that balance customer needs with business goals.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, product managers, researchers, and content designers to ensure seamless execution.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our customers' needs and pain points.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in product design.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience working in user experience, product, or relevant design fields.
  • Extensive experience working on teams that build trust with customers or tackle sensitive subject matters.
  • Demonstrated impact on product strategy and user experience in previous roles, preferably within tech or financial services.
  • A portfolio showcasing experiences you've designed for varying platforms and devices.
  • Outstanding UX capabilities and strong visual design competency.
  • A passion for an iterative process and a growth mindset.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
