Job Title: Senior Licensed Practical Nurse

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Total Joint and Spine Unit's Weekend Program. As a Senior LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Job Summary:

The Senior Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, and performing various medical procedures. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Act as a mentor and preceptor for new staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state where the facility is located.
  • 2 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, with a focus on med/surg/tele or emergency department settings.
  • Successful completion of an IV therapy curriculum within 4 months of hire/transfer.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handling multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
