Job Summary

TRS Healthcare is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Requisitions and Patient/Customer Contact:
    • Obtain and examine requisitions for every exam to ensure awareness of additional information.
    • Question patients before procedures to obtain pertinent histories and document them.
    • Screen and document possible pregnancy on all female patients of child-bearing age.
  • Performance of Procedure and Radiation Safety:
    • Select proper film and place markers on cassettes.
    • Use lead gonadal shields or protective apparel to protect unaffected body parts, and collimate.
    • Position x-ray equipment at proper distances and angles to produce clear, well-defined views.
    • Demonstrate competence in required positioning of anatomy and adapt to varying patient conditions.
    • Review patient conditions and determine proper exposure factors for each radiograph.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability:
    • Demonstrate willingness and ability to assist others as requested.
    • Assist in other areas, such as medical assistants, front desk, etc., and use time to department advantage.
  • Knowledge and Compliance:
    • Demonstrate knowledge of institutional policies regarding patient care, fire safety, infection control, and QI plans.
    • Review department manuals and sign-off supplements.
    • Maintain annual CPR certification and operate equipment safely, according to hospital and department policies.
    • Use Universal Precautions to protect yourself from bodily fluid exposure.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved radiology technology school.
  • General knowledge of x-ray equipment, including portables.
  • IDNS registry eligible, CPR certified.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Able to adjust to flexible hours.
  • Able to lift, push, pull 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
