Job Title: Electrical Engineer 6 Federal Experience/Medium Voltage Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer 6 to join our team in Concord, California. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing medium voltage distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, and standby generation systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze medium voltage distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, and standby generation systems.
  • Perform electrical calculations for electrical systems using electrical systems analysis software.
  • Develop electrical plans and specifications for medium to large-sized projects with minimal supervision.
  • Perform site investigations to confirm and/or identify existing conditions for use in developing electrical design.
  • Coordinate with clients, utilities, fire marshals, and code enforcement officers.
  • Review shop drawings and assist with general construction services.
  • Direct lower-level staff in developing short circuit, protective relay coordination, and arc flash studies using power analysis software.
  • Develop project scope and budget and provide input for proposal development.
  • Develop electrical area classification drawings based on NEC articles 500 thru 504, NFPA 820.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of CADD Operators, design technicians, and others assisting in specific assignments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP preferred.
