Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Kleinfelder. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical power systems, including transmission lines, substations, and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical power systems, including transmission lines, substations, and distribution systems
  • Perform asset investigation and create electric components lists
  • Acquire and analyze data using standard quantitative methods
  • Develop asset data integrity strategies and perform technical reviews
  • Prepare designs, calculations, and schematics for electrical power systems
  • Provide technical guidance to team members on electrical engineering test methods
  • Develop status reports and coordinate with internal teams on design and value engineering input
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with electric distribution systems, including layout, conductor sizing, transformer selection, and meter selection
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and controls design for remote control, feedback, and automation (preferred)
  • Utility business understanding (preferred)
  • Engineer-In-Training Certification (required)
  • Professional Engineer License (required, or ability to obtain)
  • Working knowledge of CAD and GIS software (desired)
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NED), electrical power transmission and distribution systems (desired)
