Job Summary

The Public Health Trust of Dade Co is seeking a highly skilled Grant Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for administering a portfolio of designated grant-funded projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the grant administration process and ongoing grant activities to ensure allowability, timely execution, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and program requirements.
  • Determine necessary actions to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions.
  • Provide guidance, consultation, and technical assistance to grant program/project staff on grants management/administration mechanisms, responsibilities, requirements, policies, and procedures throughout the life of the grant(s).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in interpreting, developing, and applying appropriate regulations, policies, and procedures related to designated grants, cooperative agreements, and other externally funded projects.
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and/or other periodic reports to ensure they are complete and accurate and provide the necessary feedback to program/project leaders.
  • Apply knowledge of program needs and deadlines, and consistent follow-up to ensure submission of required documentation.
  • Conduct cost analysis of grant-funded project/program budget and expenses to ensure all costs are allowable, allocable, necessary, and reasonable according to the contract/agreement with the funder and any applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Review, interpret, and stay up-to-date on laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Monitor new developments to advise on any potential grant project-related changes.
  • Participate in meetings with the Department of Grant Operations staff, grant project/program staff, funding agencies, and other key stakeholders, as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in health services administration, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
  • Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
