Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development and Major Gifts to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with major donors, identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities, and developing and implementing strategies to achieve fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the university's priorities, vision, and mission, and effectively communicate these to donors and stakeholders.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of 40-80 prospective donors, with a focus on securing major gifts of $100,000+ for Dell Medical School.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage donors, including qualification, relationship building, and closing of major gifts.
  • Consistently produce $3,000,000-$5,000,000+ per year in major gifts.
  • Collaborate with faculty, academic leaders, and other development staff to develop campus-wide funding opportunities and reach campaign goals.
  • Utilize fundraising databases and prospecting tools to identify and pursue new funding opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of donor engagement, proposal tracking, contact reports, and donor strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with all University development officers to further the development goals of the University.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in major gifts fundraising, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. A bachelor's degree and relevant experience are required.
