Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our Olefins Production team at LyondellBasell Industries. As a key member of our technical engineering team, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing operating units to drive process and product improvements in the La Porte Olefins (QE-1) Furnace area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement systems to improve and sustain value in the areas of health, safety, environment, production rates, reliability, cost, and quality.
  • Maintain a strong safety and environmental compliance focus.
  • Collaborate with operations to identify new opportunities to remove constraints and maximize on-stream time and profitability.
  • Contribute to a team environment and establish work relationships with onsite and offsite functional groups to achieve results.
  • Balance day-to-day operational priorities with long-term strategic objectives to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Support value enhancement and continuous improvement activities by providing technical expertise, engineering calculations, and justifications for new projects.
  • Provide process design support for capital projects.
  • Coach less experienced engineers and provide technical training to others.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a refining, petrochemical, or chemical environment.
  • Knowledgeable in chemical and process engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to apply engineering concepts to solve performance problems.
  • Knowledgeable in HSE/PSM regulations and relevant company Operational Excellence guidelines/procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in the development of Process Design Packages and related economics.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and techniques.
  • Leadership skills to drive technical solutions and mentor engineers.
  • Preferred experience in Olefins or cracking furnace technology.
