Job Overview

Crystal Stairs, Inc. is a leading provider of child care services, research, and advocacy. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Family Services Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for determining eligibility and processing enrollment for families qualified for subsidized childcare. They will also monitor cases for program compliance, conduct quality assurance reviews of client records, and assist supervisors in identifying work flows and processes for improvement and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  1. Determine eligibility and process enrollment for families qualified for subsidized childcare.
  2. Monitor cases for program compliance and ensure documentation is accurate, appropriate, and complete.
  3. Conduct quality assurance reviews of client records.
  4. Assist supervisors in identifying work flows and processes for improvement and efficiency.
  5. Research and document complaints and monitor solutions.
  6. Provide leadership role in special projects and organize activities and monitor progress.
  7. Provide back-up support to staff as needed and assist management in the area of staff development, improved workflow, team performance, team building, goal accomplishment, etc.
  8. Investigate and assist in the resolution of difficult and problem cases; handle Appeals and State Hearings.
  9. Help with the curriculum development for ongoing Program Staff Training as well as help train new and existing staff on new policies and procedures.
  10. Act as a liaison between parents, providers, government agencies, and CSI or between parents/providers and other internal departments within CSI (Claims, Provider Services, etc.).
  11. Assist in developing policies and procedures to meet state and federal program requirements by providing input.
  12. Review cases for discrepancies that may point to possible fraud.
  13. Participate in work groups, committees, and ad hoc groups.
  14. Meet assigned specific performance standards for the respective unit and/or department.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science/Arts degree from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two to three years experience working with families receiving subsidized childcare or other social support services.
  • Must have knowledge of County, State, and Federal provider (parent) contract requirements for Alternative Payment and Child Care Subsidy Programs.
  • Requires the exercise of some independent judgment and discretion in analyzing facts and circumstances and in the determination of actions to be taken within the limits of standard practice.
  • Must have excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Requires analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Requires considerable accuracy and ability to produce in a timely manner.
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task while working in a collaborative, team environment with a positive attitude.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and must have ability to work with diverse groups and all levels of management.
