Job Description:

As a Systematic High Yield Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation of active credit systematic strategies with a focus on high-quality execution and transparency. This role is part of the Systematic Fixed Income Strategies division of Quantitative Research & Investments team (QRI) of Fidelity Management and Research Company.

The successful candidate will work closely with research and trading to ensure systematic strategies are applied to the portfolios accurately and in line with portfolio guidelines and risk budgets. You will also contribute to the design and development of active systematic strategies through alpha idea generation and research into execution methods for implementation alpha. Additionally, you will help develop analytics, reports, tools, and frameworks to attribute performance, monitor risks, and improve execution.

The Systematic Fixed Income team is responsible for the research, design, development, and implementation of systematic active Fixed Income strategies. Your daily management and re-balancing of portfolio investments and cash flows in a risk-controlled manner will be crucial to the success of this role. You will also help design and enhance active credit systematic investment strategies by identifying new investment insights and research low-cost implementation methods. Furthermore, you will design and develop analysis and monitoring tools to achieve best practices in all aspects of the investment process.

Working closely with the Fidelity Trading team to ensure optimal execution and being a leader towards building the future state of trading workflow is also a key responsibility. Ensuring that all portfolios are managed to the highest fiduciary standards and performing cash management processes and derivative life-cycle events are also essential duties of this role. Effective collaboration with researchers and portfolio managers across the rest of Fidelity is also required.

Qualifications for this role include an advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or other quantitative discipline. At least 5-10 years of working experience in building and managing portfolios, portfolio optimization, construction tools, investment processes, etc. is also required. Portfolio Management or Trading experience with one or more Credit Instruments (Corporates/CDS/CDX/Bank Loans; HY/EM) is also necessary. Strong knowledge of fixed income markets, instruments, and analytics is also required. Experience with financial packages and portfolio management tools (e.g., Bloomberg and electronic trading platforms) is also necessary. Aptitude with programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, SQL, VBA) and relational databases is also required. Coding experience in Python is preferred. Very strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills and eagerness to work in a team environment are also essential for this role.
