Position Overview:


The Production Engineering Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing efficient, cost-effective production techniques and processes that align with product specifications and quality benchmarks. This role includes recommending enhancements to manufacturing workflows and overseeing the launch of new or modified products.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver who can inspire collaboration to achieve project timelines and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:


Analyze manufacturing processes through research and application of knowledge in product design, assembly, tooling, and materials; engage with equipment suppliers; and gather insights from operators.

Establish and uphold production protocols to guarantee superior manufacturing performance, product integrity, cost efficiency, and safety standards. Facilitate process enhancements and staff training.

Develop and execute manufacturing strategies and methodologies, such as Lean principles, Kanban, and 5S, while spearheading initiatives to minimize waste in production.

Calculate production expenses and assess the impact of design modifications for management evaluation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Sales, Quality Assurance, Inventory Management, and Production to ensure seamless manufacturing operations and address challenges.

Formulate work center benchmarks, oversee job variances, and streamline production processes to optimize operational costs.
Conduct source inspections for materials and components; manage vendor qualifications and approvals.
Oversee Contract Manufacturing processes, including quality controls, supply chain logistics, and training.
Perform Capacity Requirements Planning by work center and testing. Contribute to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) during New Product design assessments.
Assist in creating assembly guidelines and establishing time standards as necessary.
Proactively address non-conformance issues and document all relevant activities.
Generate product and process reports by analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
Uphold product and company reputation by adhering to regulatory standards.

Qualifications:
A minimum of five years of experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or related role. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
Familiarity with RF products is advantageous, but experience in electronic manufacturing is essential.
Understanding of ISO 9001 standards and IPC class 3 soldering processes is required.
Knowledge of PCB fabrication, assembly processes, machine shop operations, and sheet metal forming is essential.
Ability to interpret technical and non-technical documents related to contracts, product design, and manufacturing. Proficient communication skills in English with both technical and non-technical personnel.
Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with ERP systems, shop floor management, statistical process control, work order modules, and capacity planning is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Vantage; knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies; capabilities in light fixturing and prototype development.

Compensation:
Competitive salary range of $90,000 - $105,000 annually.
