Purpose and Scope

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking a dynamic professional to drive education transformation by cultivating employees' skills and knowledge to align with district goals and organization's workforce.


The ideal candidate will work closely with central office and school leadership to attract, onboard, motivate, engage, and retain top-performing employees. Establishes and maintains strong, positive working relationships with District and school leadership to support planning and implementation of projects, programs, or initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and school leaders to understand staffing needs and provide guidance on recruitment best practices.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
  • Develop and coordinate comprehensive professional development programs for teachers, administrators, and support staff.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions on instructional strategies, classroom management, technology integration, and other relevant topics.
  • Design and coordinate professional development programs that align with district goals and state educational standards.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of performance management initiatives.
  • Prepare reports on the effectiveness of professional development initiatives and present findings to district leadership.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify areas for professional development.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Five (5) years of HR or related work experience required. Nine (9) total years of HR or related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
