Job Summary

The Front Desk Agent plays a vital role in representing the brand and delivering exceptional guest experiences at Sonesta International Hotels. As the main point of contact, this individual is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the hotel's mission and overall success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Services
    • Welcoming and registering guests, assigning rooms, and providing instructions to bell staff
    • Maintaining adequate supplies at each front desk station
    • Issuing room keys and ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Front Desk Operations
    • Managing registration and key files, maintaining accurate records, and computing bills
    • Collecting payments, making and confirming reservations, and posting charges
    • Assisting with reservations and PBX as needed
  • Interpersonal Relations
    • Building strong relationships with colleagues, treating them with respect and dignity
    • Maintaining outstanding interpersonal relations with guests and coworkers
    • Contribution to a positive team spirit
  • Guest Experience
    • Delivering passionate and engaging service to guests, recognizing individual needs, and exceeding expectations
    • Consistently delivering the GUEST model:
      • Greet or welcome everyone warmly with a smile
      • Use eye and ear contact and guest's name
      • Establish/anticipate needs
      • Solve and own all requests/complaints
      • Thank everyone
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • One year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Knowledge and Skills
      • Knowledge of Opera and internet software preferred
      • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
      • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
      • Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience
      • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes
      • Bi-Lingual communications skills a plus
    • Physical Demands
      • Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear
      • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
      • Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
      • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
