Position Overview:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston is seeking a dedicated professional to join our YouthConnect initiative, a collaborative effort with local law enforcement aimed at supporting at-risk urban youth. This role focuses on enhancing the overall well-being and academic performance of young individuals referred to our program. Our social workers employ a comprehensive service model to create tailored intervention and treatment plans, which may include referrals to local organizations, clinical case management, and both individual and family counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing communication with youth and their families.
  • Perform home visits, assessments, and provide advocacy and crisis intervention while connecting clients to community resources.
  • Facilitate in-person counseling sessions within the community for individuals and families.
  • Organize and lead case discussions involving clients, their families, and service providers.
  • Serve as an on-site resource at designated locations to assist with emerging issues.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with community service providers and various public/private organizations.
  • Participate in community meetings that address the needs and challenges faced by youth.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation of case records using an electronic system.
  • Engage in regular supervision and team meetings to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) is required.
  • Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) must be obtained within three months of hire.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with high-risk youth and their families is preferred.
  • Possession of a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license for community outreach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating self-direction.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Flexibility to accommodate the varying needs of clients regarding meeting locations and times.
  • Experience working with diverse populations across different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

This role may involve occasional evening and weekend commitments.
