Position Title: Youth Mentor

Role Summary:

The Therapeutic Mentor (TM) is responsible for providing structured, one-on-one support services to youth under the age of 21 in various environments, including home and community settings. The primary goal is to enhance daily living skills, social interactions, and communication abilities. The services are tailored to promote age-appropriate social functioning and to address any deficits in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with youth in activities that align with their treatment goals.
  • Provide coaching and support to facilitate the youth's success in diverse social situations.
  • Maintain regular communication with youth through phone and in-person consultations.
  • Collaborate with other professionals involved in the youth's care, such as Case Managers and Educators.
  • Demonstrate awareness of various contextual factors including race, culture, and socioeconomic status.
  • Document progress and adhere to compliance standards.
  • Assist clients with transportation for treatment-related activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and have access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth, either through volunteering or employment.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are preferred.
