Position Title: Youth Mentor

Work Location: Westfield, MA

Position Summary:

The Youth Mentor provides structured, individualized support services to youth under 21 in various environments, including home and community settings. The focus is on addressing daily living, social, and communication needs through strength-based approaches. The services aim to enhance age-appropriate social functioning and mitigate any deficits in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with youth in activities that align with their treatment goals.
  • Provide coaching and support to help youth navigate social situations and develop new skills.
  • Maintain regular communication with youth through phone and in-person consultations.
  • Collaborate with relevant individuals involved in the youth's care, including case managers and educators.
  • Demonstrate awareness of various contextual factors such as race, culture, and socioeconomic status.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and adhere to compliance standards.
  • Assist clients with transportation for treatment-related activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License and automobile with appropriate insurance.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth, either through volunteering or employment.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are preferred.
