Material Planner

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Material Planner to join our team at Sierra Space Corporation. As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to manage the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, and finished goods through our production and inventory process.
You will track production activity to ensure a smooth and controlled flow of materials, troubleshoot potential scheduling problems, and assist with providing solutions. Additionally, you will track production and material deficiencies and implement the master production plan through the material management system to execute the program and product life cycle.
We are actively recruiting for both Material Planners at Level II and Level III. If you have a passion for supply chain management and a strong background in planning and scheduling, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement plans to manage the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, and finished goods through our production and inventory process.
- Track production activity to ensure a smooth and controlled flow of materials.
- Troubleshoot potential scheduling problems and assist with providing solutions.
- Track production and material deficiencies and implement the master production plan through the material management system to execute the program and product life cycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, logistics, or a related field of study.
- Typically three (3) years of relevant experience; higher-level degree may substitute for experience.
- Experience with the engineering change process.
- Knowledge of master production planning.
- Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
- Experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Operations Management.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR).
- Understanding of Unified Commercial Code (UCC).
- Prior experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
