NextGen Federal Systems, LLC is on the lookout for a Mission Support Lead to provide vital assistance to the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Office of Acquisition (OA). The successful candidate will possess extensive managerial expertise in organizing, planning, directing, and overseeing contractor personnel, delivering leadership, guidance, and strategic vision.
Position Overview: The Mission Support Division (MSD) Lead will collaborate closely with the OA Chief of Staff to facilitate essential MSD daily administrative tasks, human resources functions, and on-site technology assistance. The MSD will also partner with the Enterprise Services Chief of Staff to deliver enterprise products and services to OA personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the OA Executive Secretariat, managing correspondence, taskers, and Congressional inquiries, while supporting responses to audit requests and processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) submissions.
- Collaborate with Administration, Human Resources, and Technology Support leaders to identify, assess, and address OA enterprise needs.
- Lead a skilled team of contractors, providing direction and support for daily operations within the OA Mission Support Division.
- Work alongside the Enterprise Services Chief of Staff to ensure the delivery of enterprise solutions to OA staff.
- Evaluate business requirements and the necessary skills for Mission Support roles, assisting the CSS Program Manager in manpower planning.
- Build trust through ongoing, transparent engagement with OA leadership.
- Maintain communication with executive leadership to ensure that organizational needs are met and adjustments are made promptly.
- Foster a positive, professional, and dynamic workplace environment.
Qualifications
- Project Management Professional Certification.
- Master's degree in management, business, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in organizing, planning, directing, and managing contractor teams at a headquarters level.
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current Top-Secret clearance or current DHS Background Investigation is highly preferred.
- Ability to secure and maintain a suitability determination following a CBP Background Investigation.
