Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at SP+. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for facilitating daily audits, assisting with financial paperwork, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify accounting codes and process vendor invoices for timely payment.
  • Review and file A/P checks for accuracy.
  • Input customer claims and refunds into the AS400 system.
  • Review time cards for accuracy and update payroll system.
  • Process and track employee paid benefit days.
  • Review payroll checks for accuracy and print timecard reports.
  • Verify cashier shortage deductions against auditor reports.
  • Review and verify monthly union reports.
  • Prepare Workers Compensation First Report of Injury Claims.
  • Interact with managers and employees to resolve payroll issues.
  • Process FMLA requests and related documents.
  • Issue and track cashier access cards.
  • Perform internal month-end reconciliations.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • College accounting coursework and two years of bookkeeping/auditing experience.
  • P/R and A/P experience is desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • AS400 and Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
