Job Overview

Kimco Staffing Services is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist for our client in Houston.

Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Compensation: $18.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily cycle counts of materials as per schedule.
  • Analyze on-hand inventory alongside current and historical activity.
  • Verify that materials are stored in designated locations.
  • Dismantle boxes and pallets as required.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations.
  • Utilize appropriate safety gear at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Operate various warehouse equipment including standup forklifts and reach trucks.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred for effective communication with warehouse staff.
  • Prior experience in inventory management.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics and analytical reasoning.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with flanges, fittings, and piping products.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Physical capability to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Basic data entry skills using a laptop.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:
  • Experience operating sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, or pickers is preferred.
  • Regular use of hands for handling and feeling, along with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing between 10-50 lbs, with occasional lifting of heavier items.
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Occasional sitting and climbing or balancing required.
  • Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
