Job Summary

Qualcomm is seeking a highly skilled CPU Physical Design Engineer to join our Engineering Group, CPU Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with microarchitecture and RTL design teams to implement designs that meet aggressive power, area, and performance goals using industry-standard tools and flows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CPU microarchitecture team to understand specifications and design trade-offs in pipeline and structure sizing.
  • Optimize designs at various stages from RTL to GDS to meet timing, power, and area goals.
  • Validate designs for functional and electrical robustness.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in high-performance and low-power implementation methods.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in CPU design.

Requirements

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with synthesis, place and route, and signoff timing/power analysis.
  • Knowledge of high-performance and low-power implementation methods.
  • Knowledge of CPU microarchitecture, logic design, and circuits.
  • Frequent transportation and installation of equipment up to 5 lbs.
  • Continuous communication with colleagues, customers, and vendors.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of experience.
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of experience.
