Overview:

Krier Foods LLC is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Planner Coordinator to join our team. The primary role of this position is to manage the asset and equipment maintenance systems, generate routine and planned maintenance schedules, and support the maintenance teams in the execution of all planned maintenance activities.

This role is responsible for coordinating and enabling resources of the maintenance teams in the execution of routine planned maintenance tasks during the maintenance day or scheduled maintenance windows, as well as ad hoc tasks performed by these teams during normal operations. The Maintenance Planner Coordinator should only be involved in breakdown maintenance by exception.

This role will contribute to a world-class maintenance organization by creating the proper maintenance mix that optimizes Krier Foods LLC's production capability. Success will be measured by improving the reliability of equipment and reducing maintenance costs, resulting in improved production efficiencies, increasing the useful life of assets, ensuring personnel safety, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning and Scheduling: Plan all required work on the planned maintenance schedule, including ad hoc tasks, and prioritize with the teams and relevant work requests generated.
  • Backlog Management: Review, prioritize, and organize the backlog as necessary.
  • Pre-Maintenance Meetings: Facilitate and lead the planned maintenance pre-meeting to discuss work required, problems to be addressed, and resource requirements.
  • Resource Allocation: Determine resource requirements to complete work and assign tasks to specific resources, interacting with departmental heads to obtain resources as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Participate in planned maintenance periods in support of the maintenance team, assisting with problem-solving, work prioritization, and resource re-allocation.
  • Out-of-Service Processes: Adhere to out-of-service processes and time guidelines, including startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and maintenance days/maintenance windows.
  • Work Rescheduling: Reschedule incomplete work to the next planned maintenance period and capture all required information from the planned maintenance period on the maintenance system.
  • Post-Maintenance Meetings: Facilitate and lead the maintenance postmortems to discuss problems encountered, opportunities identified, and lessons learned.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Use the maintenance planning system to generate routine maintenance schedules, including required cleaning, lubrication, and inspection tasks.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources to the schedules and generate works orders where indicated.
  • Schedule Communication: Communicate the schedules to the production, engineering, and other support teams, resolving work and resource allocation problems.
  • Verification: Verify that routine maintenance schedules are being completed and that shift teams are completing maintenance tasks assigned to them.
  • Administration: Complete all administration and maintenance systems tasks required to support the management of routine maintenance schedules.
  • Work Estimates: Keep work estimates up to date and accurate, reviewing performance to estimate, and investigating and addressing non-conformance to target.
  • System Management: Participate in the commissioning of new maintenance systems or changes to the current maintenance system when requested.
  • Maintenance Systems: Manage the maintenance systems, ensuring operational and data integrity, and correct use of the system.
  • Maintenance Reports: Generate required maintenance reports, including Maximo reports, and communicate with key stakeholders.
  • Data Capture: Capture required data on the maintenance systems, verifying accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintenance Analysis: Conduct analysis of maintenance data to identify failure modes and root causes of maintenance problems, and to identify problems in a timely manner.
  • Problem Resolution: Where analysis of maintenance data indicates a need to carry out work, communicate this information to the appropriate team and include in the planned maintenance schedules.
  • Planned Work: Manage planned work on maintenance days and as required.
  • Problem-Solving: Where problems have occurred during routine or planned maintenance activities, apply the correct problem-solving approach to resolve them.
  • Resource Allocation: Where required, call in additional resources to assist in problem-solving or escalate to manager for direction.
  • Team Support: Assist team members to resolve problems on request.
  • FFA Facilitation: Take part, as a functional expert, in FFA's (Formal Failure Analysis) on request.
  • Process Improvement: Using control charts and trend analysis, identify sources of waste and variation in the process in their area of expertise.
  • Opportunity Identification: Using downtime analysis, Pareto charts, and other tools, seek to identify opportunities to improve processes.
  • Job Observations: Perform job observations during the corrective maintenance day windows.
  • Spares Management: Manage the right sizing of the spares in the storeroom in conjunction with the Parts Clerk.
  • Capital Projects: Participate in sessions for capital and equipment improvement projects.
  • PM Packages: Develop PM packages for new equipment installed or commissioned in designated areas of responsibility.
  • Maintenance Budget: Manage the maintenance budget from a labor, materials, and outside services perspective.
  • Work Plan Updates: Update work plan frequency and efficacy based on principles of maintenance planning and feedback provided from technicians and corrective or PM work findings.
  • Maintenance Planning: Plan maintenance and projects.
  • Asset Care Plan: Develop an asset care plan.
  • Teamwork: Work in teams.
  • MaintainX System Integrity: Manage MaintainX system integrity.
  • Process Optimization: Optimize and maintain packaging area.
  • Workplace Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Maintenance Budget Techniques: Apply maintenance budget techniques.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge: Knowledge and application of World Class performance metrics and Lean principles, including SQSCS (Safety, Quality, Speed, Cost, Sustainability), 5S, OEE/6 Big losses, Standard Process Control (SPC), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Operator-based maintenance, Maintenance-based operation, Problem-solving, 5 Why, and Formal Failure Analysis (FFA) facilitation.
  • Business Knowledge: General good business management skills and practices, budget development and management, cost savings development and management.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including frequent physical exertions, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
