POSITION SUMMARY: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

SUPERVISOR: Production Supervisor

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for executing a variety of tasks to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment in accordance with safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems to achieve the site's operational goals.


FACILITIES: Involves all maintenance operations across Konecranes Springfield campuses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



• Ensure machinery and mechanical systems operate efficiently by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment, overhead crane systems, paint booth apparatus, testing devices, hydraulic systems, air compressors, etc.; adhering to diagrams, operational manuals, manufacturer’s guidelines, and engineering specifications.

• Replace faulty components by disassembling devices; utilizing hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and equipment to meet specifications and tolerances.

• Minimize downtime by collaborating with production management to schedule routine preventive maintenance.

• Fabricate replacement parts using in-house equipment and hand tools.

• Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies by monitoring stock levels; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; confirming receipt.

• Optimize maintenance resources by using tools and supplies efficiently to achieve job outcomes.

• Provide mechanical maintenance information by addressing inquiries and requests.

• Prepare maintenance reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

• Ensure continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.

• Respond to urgent maintenance requests as necessary to support multi-shift operations.

• Repair electrical equipment and control circuits.

• Diagnose issues, replace or repair components, test, and make adjustments.

• Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems.

• Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing tasks.

• Identify faulty operations, defective materials, and report any unusual situations to appropriate supervision.

• Adhere to safety regulations and maintain clean and organized work areas.

• Assist subcontractors as required.

• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with all vendors, contractors, and colleagues.

Qualifications:


• An Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance plus 5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, or equivalent; strong skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, electronics, and electricity. Electrical certification and/or licensing preferred.


• Strong technical aptitude.


• Basic understanding of plumbing and HVAC systems.


• Extensive experience in tracing electrical circuits.


• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints.


• Strong communication abilities.


• Capable of accurately estimating time and materials for repairs and projects.


• Proactive self-starter with initiative, results-oriented mindset, and ethical conduct.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.


• Flexible schedule as required, with the ability to adjust work hours and respond to equipment failures on a 24-hour basis.


• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with all vendors, contractors, and colleagues.


• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb for extended periods; capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
