Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and service-oriented Front Desk Operations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one (1) year in Front Desk Operations and in-depth knowledge of hotel Front Desk operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting guests, reviewing arrival lists, and assisting with check-in and check-out processes. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for handling cash and credit transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests as they arrive and focus on personal recognition
Review arrival lists daily and assist in preparing and assembling welcome amenities
Escort VIPs to room and check them in prior to arrival
Answer the telephone within three rings with a smile and answer questions accordingly or transfer as needed
Responsible for issued bank. Count bank at beginning and end of shift. Ensure that all cash drops are done in accordance with proper cash handling procedures and report all cash over/shorts to management
Keep front desk area clean and organized
Stock front desk and retail areas daily
Assist with lobby activation as needed
Utilize proper procedures when handling guest PPI data
Follow checklist when going through check-in or check-out with guest. Always retrieve necessary identification documents and form of payment upon arrival
Attend promptly to guest needs and inquiries
Adhere to and uphold Marriott brand standards and execute all proprietary functions and duties
Audit the daily guest ledger
Handle all end-of-day accounting functions including posting daily room rates and room tax
Ensure accuracy of all charges to the guest folios
Average sum of revenues of all accounts receivable from food, room, gift shop and other departments
Make cash drops in accordance with proper cash handling procedures
Work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
Requirements:
Minimum of one (1) year in Front Desk Operations
In-depth knowledge of hotel Front Desk operations
Minimum of High School education
Accounting experience preferred
Must have open availability and be able to work a flexible schedule of 24-40 hours per week
Basic computer skills
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
Problem solving, decision making, and resourcefulness are essential
Excellent time management skills
Basic Accounting/Math skills
