Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing office and clerical work related to property assessment, property tax relief programs, deed transfers, and assessor property records. The successful candidate will work under close supervision to search for information, disburse information, and process documents to update and maintain parcel records, property ownership, and records for the appraisal division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Search for information and disburse information
  • Process documents to update and maintain parcel records, property ownership, and records for the appraisal division
  • Process applications for property tax relief programs
  • Process recorded documents to determine legal condition of property and ownership
  • Process appropriate instruments to complete splits or combination of parcels
  • Assist public in use of GIS and computer facilities
  • Answer incoming calls and receive, sort, file, and retrieve forms, correspondence, and documents
  • Compile reports and summaries of work
  • Update, check, and complete records, forms, and documents
  • Operate a variety of office equipment and computer-assisted mass appraisal software
  • Conduct public outreach meetings regarding various assessor functions
Requirements
  • Ability to understand and follow oral or written procedures
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with employees, other agencies, and the public
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to make accurate math calculations
  • Ability to work independently exercising judgment and initiative
  • Ability to perform clerical tasks with speed, accuracy, and understanding
  • Knowledge of computer applications
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
