We are seeking a highly skilled Principal/Senior Principal Model-Based Engineering CAD/PLM Tools Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Vehicle Engineering department, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in design, analysis, and engineering tools development to support our Model-Based Design (MBD), Model-Based Manufacturing (MBM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Maturation of digital thread between engineering and manufacturing
- Work as Sector ECAD Architect
- Engineering CAD/PLM tools requirement definition
- Support the development and program adoption of AS Sector Digital Transformation tools and initiatives
- Validation testing of CAD/PLM tool functionality
- Creation of training and best practice documentation
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) user support
- Develop/update sector processes for CAD/PLM
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) and 5 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in design, analysis, and/or engineering tools development discipline OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in design, analysis, and/or engineering tools development.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
- Experience with Capital and Expedition
- Experience with HarnesSys
- Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Experience working in an aerospace design environment. Emphasis placed in the following disciplines: Structural Design/Analysis, Subsystems Design/Analysis, Electrical/Mechanical Routing, or Mechanism Design/Analysis.
- Experience working with Teamcenter and NX (or equivalent PDM/PLM and CAD/CAE applications).
- Experience working with Capital and Expedition (or equivalent)
- Experience with Model-Based Relational Design and Assembly Configuration
- Experience working in the context of an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Communicates effectively and clearly presents technical approaches and recommendations.
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $92,600 - $139,000, with a salary range 2 of $114,900 - $172,300. We also offer flexible work arrangements, 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment.
