Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Coordinator to join our team at UNM Medical Group, Inc. This role is critical to the success of our department, and we are looking for a candidate who can provide exceptional administrative support and patient service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reception and Registration: Provide exceptional patient service by answering incoming calls, checking patients in and out, and coordinating appointment scheduling.
  • Financial and Cash Management: Collect co-pays, collect upfront payments, and generate patient receipts. Reconcile daily cash collections and follow established cash management policies and procedures.
  • Billing and Prior Authorization: Generate charge documents and other billing paperwork to ensure proper billing information is obtained and documented. Coordinate and process referrals and prior authorizations with insurance companies.
  • Communication and Record Keeping: Maintain ongoing communication with the centralized UNMMG Practice Coordinator to address staffing issues, training, and support. Keep accurate records and filing systems up to date.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
