Position Overview

Operates radiologic machinery to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as instructed by healthcare providers and conducts standard diagnostic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Positions patients and calibrates equipment for x-ray imaging, adhering to established protocols. Ensures compliance with safety regulations while operating radiologic devices. Guides patients through the procedures. Analyzes radiologic images for characteristics such as density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion. Develops and processes radiologic images. Delivers images to the requesting party for evaluation. Maintains the x-ray examination room. Ensures necessary medical and radiological supplies are stocked. Cleans and performs minor adjustments on radiologic equipment. Responsible for routine upkeep and notifying vendors of any malfunctions. Manages the distribution of x-ray reports and images, keeping a log of their locations. Coordinates radiologic examinations to be conducted at external laboratories, as needed. Collects and prepares x-rays with physician interpretations for radiologist review.

Supervisory/Management Role

This is a non-management position that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Required Qualifications

Associate's Degree: Completion of an accredited radiology program.

Necessary Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

SCRQSA license RSQA - RAD QUALITY STANDARD American Registry for Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification for Radiology. New graduates must obtain and submit a Permanent SCRQSA license within 30 days of passing the ARRT registry. Temporary B SCRQSA license may be utilized for 30 days.

Alternative Qualifications

In lieu of the accredited radiology program, completion of the diploma program through AnMed Health is acceptable. Additionally, any education recognized as grandfathered by the American Registry for Radiology Technologists is also acceptable. Team members in this role as of a specified date are grandfathered from the education and experience requirements listed above pending state and regulatory requirements.
